What our customers say

I moved three client sites over on a Sunday evening and the A1Hosting team did the whole migration for me while I watched. Page load times dropped noticeably and I have not had a single outage since.

Henry Clarence www.henryclarence.us

I resell hosting to my own customers and the WHM setup here has been solid for two years. What sold me was that support answers with an actual answer rather than a link to a knowledge base article.

Good value without feeling cheap. The free SSL and daily backups are the two things I would otherwise pay extra for elsewhere, and cPanel means I already knew how to use everything.

Common questions

How does Web Hosting work?

Your website is a set of files — pages, images, stylesheets — plus usually a database. Those files have to live on a computer that is connected to the internet 24 hours a day and configured to serve them to visitors. That computer is a web server, and renting space on one is web hosting.

When someone types your domain name, the Domain Name System points their browser at our server, and our server sends back your site. You upload your files through cPanel, FTP or a one-click installer, and we look after the server, the software, the security updates and the backups.

What tools or software can I use to build my website?

Whatever you prefer. Every plan includes a one-click installer for over 100 applications, so you can install WordPress, Joomla, Drupal, PrestaShop or Magento in a couple of minutes.

If you would rather not use a CMS at all, our drag-and-drop site builder is included free and needs no technical knowledge. And if you build sites by hand, you have full FTP and SSH access, PHP version selection, Composer, Git and phpMyAdmin.

What kind of web hosting plan do I need?

For a brochure site, a blog or a portfolio, shared hosting is the right answer — start with Starter or Business and upgrade later if you need to.

Choose a VPS when your site has outgrown shared resources, when you need a specific software stack, or when you want root access. Choose reseller hosting if you build sites for clients and want to sell hosting under your own brand. Choose a dedicated server when you need an entire machine.

If you are not sure, tell our team what your site does and roughly how much traffic it gets, and we will recommend the smallest plan that comfortably fits — not the biggest one.

Purchased a hosting plan, now what do I do?

You will receive a welcome email within a few minutes of your payment being confirmed. It contains your cPanel URL, username and password, and your nameservers.

From there: sign in to cPanel, point your domain at our nameservers (or register a new one with us and we will do it for you), install your application or upload your files, and add your email accounts. Your free SSL certificate is issued automatically once the domain resolves to us — usually within an hour.

If any of that is unfamiliar, open a ticket. We will do the setup with you.

What does free domain registration mean?

On our Business and Premium shared plans, and on all reseller plans, we pay for your domain name for the first year when you buy annual hosting. You choose the name, we register it in your name, and you own it.

The offer covers one domain in a common extension such as .com, .in, .net or .org. From the second year the domain renews at our normal published rate, which is listed on our domains page. If you cancel your hosting the domain remains yours and can be transferred away.

How do I transfer my Web pages to your server?

Three ways, and all of them are free.

We do it for you. Open a ticket with your current host's cPanel login and we will migrate the site, the databases and the email, then tell you when to switch nameservers. There is no charge and no downtime if we do it in that order.

cPanel backup restore. If your current host also uses cPanel, generate a full backup there and send it to us.

Do it yourself. Upload your files over FTP or the cPanel File Manager and import your database through phpMyAdmin.
